What's new in the NBA 2 league? Extended play office, conferences, now regular season

NBA 2 League fans mark these calendars on May 19.

The fourth season of Competitive Sports Circuit, backed by the NBA, will return on Wednesday to begin the 16-week schedule, which ends with the 2K League final on September 4.

The playoffs will start eight days earlier with more teams than in the past, as the post-season field will be increased to 12 (above 10) in 2021. For the first time in its four-year history, the NBA 2 League introduced conferences, East and West, for their 23 teams:

The teams will play away from their local markets, although Commissioner Brendan Donohue has previously said that fans should be welcomed somewhere in 2021. The league will be created on the match's teaches and YouTube channels.

The league will have three tournaments this season, as it did last year. All teams will compete in the first two tournaments, while 10 playoff teams. The first five teams in each conference will not compete in the third team, which will be the playoff tournament in the following season after the two emerging teams.

Over the course of a week, games will be held from Wednesday to Saturday (the first tip-off at 9 a.m.), and regular season broadcasts will feature nightly topics.

  • "NBA 2KL Block Party on Wednesday":Highlight voices around the NBA 2K League community, including inspirational ones.

  •  "NBA 2KL Bounce Pass on Thursday":Fastest gameplay nights, with four matchups in a three-hour window. Three games can happen at the same time and the broadcast should feel like a "red zone.”

  • "NBA 2KL Friday Night Fire": Saturday's Marquee Matchup Spotlights with Game of the Week.

  • "NBA 2KL Saturday Night Show Down":"Cutter" explores new broadcast elements, focusing on 2K fans.

Earlier this month, the league revealed that all games would be played on PlayStation 5, a state-of-the-art system developed by parent company Sony.
