The Green Bay Packers will enter the 2021 NFL Draft in hopes of winning 26 regular-season games and joining another skilled roster after making the NFC Championship game in the back-to-back seasons under coach Matt Lafleur. Some more valuable pieces will be sought.
Between now and the draft, Packers Wire will periodically break a high probability of landing in Green Bay later this month.
Then there's Georgia Cornerback Eric Stokes:
What can he do
- Speed is an elite feature. 4.29 runs in the 40 yards dash. Recovery speed is indicated on the tape. The horrific 10-yard blast highlights the explosives
- Lean player. Stands 6-0, but only 194 pounds
- More than 25 stars on 25 of his hands. Attacks as soon as the ball arrives, interrupt the catch point. The elite do not have the ball skills and may not be a big-time intruder but have a good sense of rhythm with the recipients and are aware of when the ball arrives.
- Ton raps against NFL-caliber recipients during its 25 starts
- Looks like he's able to play outdoors or in a slot, even though he played mostly in the Giorgio area. There are vertical speeds for playing vertically and sharp legs to meet the inside paths. Played a lot of press coverage from the frame
- Hit 38.5 hits in the vertical jump and his ring is 78. Length is a plus
- Routes can be a little physical and useful soon. A large number of flags were hoisted at the college. The NFL is more stingy on illegal contacts. You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people

How does it fit?
The needs of the Packers are well documented in Cornerback. Although Kevin King and Chandon Sullivan are back, the position requires short-term and long-term support. Stokes, with his speed and length, could compete for King in 2021 and potential alternatives in 2022. Packers will love the combination of their press ability and recovery speed, especially if they replace King in the long run.
NFL comp
Jamil Dean without medical red flags. Like Dean, Stokes has a high level of coverage at the SEC level and a well-respected combination of speed and length at the cornerback position. Dean has been a standard frame matron car back for the Buccaneers for the past two seasons. Stokes has a similar limit.
Where Packer could get it
Opinions about Stokes are everywhere from the end of the first round to the second round, which complicates the offer for the Packers. He could be a trade down candidate in the first round, or possibly a trade up candidate in the second round. He seems to be able to get off the board anywhere in the 30-60 range. The Packers will probably like the chance to get him at No. 62, although his profile certainly doesn't rule him out of No. 29.
