On Sunday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam added another
wing to his most iconic hat, as he became the fastest batsman in the T20I
format to reach 2,000 runs.
Babar achieved this feat in the third and final T20
against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. The Pakistan captain has played 52
innings to score 2000 T20 runs. which is four less than India's Virat Kohli who
played 56 innings to reach this position.
Australian captain Aaron Finch (62 innings) and former
New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum (66 innings) are third and fourth
respectively.
Although Kohli is still the leading run-scorer in T20
cricket, Babar is 11th in the shortest format of the game with 2035 runs. The
Indian captain has scored 3,159 T20I runs at an average of 52.65.

Earlier this week, Kohli remained stable at a number
five but Babar moved up one place to second in the ICCT Twenty Player Rankings
released on Wednesday.
Babar's fine form helped him to top Kohli's position
in the men's ODI rankings last week. And in this week's T20I update, he
surpassed Finch's 47 in the T20I rankings. Saw a strong increase in points.
